The KY-032 IR obstacle sensor module (IR stands for infrared) is an electronic component used to detect obstacles. It contains an infrared LED and a phototransistor mounted in opposite ends of the module. The LED emits infrared radiation that reflects off an obstacle and hits the phototransistor.
