To prevent mix-ups or incorrect connections, FAKRA plugs and sockets are mechanically and color-coded (coded = mix-up-proof). This coding consists of a letter (A to Z) and a corresponding housing color that identifies the respective application. This ensures that, for example, a plug for mobile telephony cannot be confused with a radio connection.
