Intelligent alarm chain for effective fire and smoke warnings: the optical ABUS wireless smoke detector reacts to visible smoke particles within its detection zone. If smoke enters the measuring chamber, the piezo signal generator produces a loud alarm of 85 dB sound pressure.

Networked security Up to 32 wireless detectors can be networked together on the 868-MHz frequency, each with a range of up to 30 m (additional wireless modules not necessary). A high level of safety is guaranteed by the cascading feature of the detectors: if one detector sounds an alarm, this will be sent along the whole chain from the first detector to the last. The detector which first detected the smoke will sound a different alarm tone from the others. The effective range depends on the characteristics of the building (it is advisable to test the signal on installation).

Installation instructions The wireless smoke detector is mounted on the ceiling. In doing so, please note the minimum distance from the wall (15 cm), corners (50 cm) etc. (see instruction manual for details). One alarm is recommended in every hallway, stairwell, living room and bedroom.

Information on battery life The included 9-V operating lithium battery has a lifetime of up to 2 years. Low battery charge is indicated by a regular beeping from the detector. It is advisable to test the detector once a month. The detector is VdS certified in line with its high levels of safety and reliability.
