This is an HDMI audio extractor that supports resolutions up to 4K / UltraHD / 2160p @60Hz. It forwards AV signals from a source device, such as BluRay player, to a monitor / TV and allows the extraction of the audio signal for connection to an amplifier / AVR via optical S/PDIF (Toslink), so that simultaneous use of HD video and high-quality audio is possible. This device extracts the 5.1 surround audio signal from the source signal and transmits it to the connected amplifier / AVR, with full support of Dolby 5.1 and DTS 5.1 for a local surround system, e.g. in home theater. The additional 3.5mm jack output extracts and converts (downmix) the audio signal to L/R stereo for headphones or other audio devices.
