It allows various devices, such as external enclosures, monitors, card readers and docking stations, to be connected via a Thunderbolt™ 3 port on a PC or notebook. The cable enables data transfer rates of up to 20 GB/s and supports both USB and DisplayPort, PCI Express and Ethernet data transfer.
