ESP-Prog is one of Espressif's development and debugging tools and offers features such as automatic firmware download, serial communication and JTAG online debugging. Features compatible with ESP32, ESP8266 Interfaces: JTAG, UART, USB 2.0 Connector: USB-B micro, IDC/flat ribbon cable ESP-Prog automatic firmware download and serial communication functions are supported by both ESP8266 and ESP32 platforms, while JTAG online debugging is supported by ESP32 platform only. ESP-Prog can be easily connected to a PC using only a USB cable. The PC can then identify the board's download and JTAG interfaces (functions) by their port numbers. Since the power supply voltage may be different on different user boards, each of the ESP-Prog interfaces can provide the 5V or the 3.3V power supply through headers to ensure power compatibility.
