Kinetic Technologies KTS1697A Current-Sink Protection Load Switch is a low-resistance and high-current load switch with 7A continuous current rating. This switch is optimized to protect systems with USB Type-C™ PD ports and barrel connectors that sink up to 140W at 20V. The KTS1697A load switch features Soft-Start (SS), Over-Voltage Protection (OVP), Short-Circuit Protection (SCP), Over-Current Protection (OCP), and Over-Temperature Protection (OTP). In addition, the automatic Reverse-Current Protection (RCP) acts as an “ideal diode” with fast recovery and isolates VBUS when charging/powering the system via another port. This KTS1697A load switch is integrated with Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) that provides IEC industry-standard ESD and ±90V surge ratings. Ideally, this switch is used in notebooks, tablets, ultra-books, netbooks, desktop PCs, docking stations, and monitors.
