An AFDD (Arc Fault Detection Device) fire protection switch or arc fault protection device is responsible for monitoring serial and parallel arcs. To do this, it monitors the sine waves of current and voltage. If it detects trends that indicate an arc fault, it switches off the corresponding circuit safely.
