SOFTING LanMaster 35 cable and network tester The LanMaster 35 is the ideal universal tool for all IT administrators or system technicians who need to install and maintain VoIP end devices and WLAN access points. In heterogeneous networks, Voice over IP (VoIP) telephones and wireless access points are often supplied with power via Power over Ethernet. There are many different standards, which often makes interoperability difficult. The LanMaster 35 tests whether a link and the associated power supply are working properly. Connected to the socket, the easy-to-use hand-held device quickly and reliably tests whether a 10/100/1000 MBit/s Ethernet link exists and which duplex mode is set. The LanMaster 35 also measures whether Power over Ethernet (PoE) is present at the corresponding port. In addition to the voltage type "Mid-Span", "End-Span" or "All-Span", the device also recognizes which PoE standard is being used, e.g. IEEE 802.3af, Cisco standard or a proprietary standard. This measurement tests the port under load and thus indicates the functionality and setting. For network testing, the LanMaster 35 can be used to easily measure the cable length of a cabling section or a cable drum.
