L293D DC Motor Shield motor controller module

The motor control module supports motor supply voltages in the range 4.5 - 36 V and system 6 - 9 V. It features two L293D drivers, a 74HC595 shift register and a RESET button. It offers a maximum current of 600 mA per channel, with the possibility of reaching 1.2 A in peak. Up to 4 DC motors, 2 stepper motors and 2 servo motors can be operated. The module is compatible with Arduino Uno and Mega, making it a versatile solution for robotics projects.

The module is compatible with, among others, the Arduino Uno and Mega Before launch: The manufacturer of the chip recommends connecting an external power supply to relieve the USB port. It is also possible to power the Motor Shield overlay and the Arduino separately. In order to do so, it is required to disconnect the PWRIMP jumper. This is even advisable when powering with a voltage higher than 12V.
