Useful for a variety of laboratory demonstrations, this 55Ω rheostat provides a variable resistance in electrical circuits. Oxidized constantan wire is wound on a vitreous enamelled tube. A sliding contact carriage, mounted on the slide bar, carries a phosphor bronze contact for long life.
