The TIMI-96 Starter Kit is a revolutionary breadboard compatible display development module that redefines the way electronic testing, development, and projects are conducted. It showcases a vibrant RGB (65K colors) display with a resolution of 160×80. The 0.96” TFT LCD display module is powered by a PIXXI-28 graphics processor from 4D Labs. The module features a unique MatesBus interface, which simplifies its use in breadboard applications as well as in adapters or directly integrated into developed products.The main interface of TIMI-96 is a 3.3V level Asynchronous Serial UART, with 3 GPIO that can function as Digital or Analog inputs, Digital Outputs, Controller I2C Communication or PWM Audio output. This versatility allows the TIMI-96 to serve as a stand-alone controller, a host-driven peripheral, or a tethered test instrument. It is also capable of interfacing and powering external devices.The TIMI-96 employs the BBM MatesBus, a unique interface pinout designed for simplicity and ease of use. The MatesBus consists of 2 rows of 5 pins with a pitch of 2.54mm, spaced 7.62mm apart. This design is perfect for direct plug into a breadboard, or a compatible adapter or development board.The TIMI-96 can be oriented in any of its 4 positions: Portrait, Landscape, Portrait Reversed, and Landscape Reversed. Its natural position forms an upside-down ‘T’ shape, designed to interface with the bottom of a breadboard and leave the top part of the breadboard free for components and wiring.The TIMI-96 serves as a flexible design aid, mainly for simulating component readouts and meters, thereby accelerating development and conserving the often-limited GPIO hardware associated with many developments.
