The ABUS RM0010 Test Spray for Optical Smoke Detector allows you to check whether your optical smoke detector is functioning correctly. An optical smoke detector reacts to visible smoke particles - inside the measuring chamber of the optical smoke detector, an integrated infrared light source generates a pulse of light every 8 seconds. If too much smoke enters this measuring chamber, the pulse of light is modified - a relay then switches and the detector/alarm panel reports a fire alarm. With this test gas, you can simulate these smoke particles in order to test your smoke detector - note, the spray distance must be at least 30cm.
