Our 3.5mm Jack breakout (TRRS) allows you to break out the four conductors from a standard TRRS 3.5mm jack cable/device with the flexibility to solder wires, headers and more, alongside M2.5 mounting options and underside soldering pads! Obvious audio project usefulness aside, we think these could also be dead handy as a simple way to transmit low-speed data from a microcontroller to/from a device using common 3.5mm audio cables (just make sure your cable is the 4-pole TRRS type). Each pin from the 3.5mm jack/TRRS socket is broken out to clearly labelled 2.54mm-spaced pads: * TP = Tip * R1 = Ring 1 * R2 = Ring 2 * SL = Sleeve You can solder whatever you like to these, such as the included 4-pin 2.54mm header strip (great for breadboard usage), some prototyping wire, or even a 4-way 2.54mm terminal block. If you're soldering wires, consider using the underside solder pads. We added these because we know just how tricky it is to de-solder and re-solder a wire from a pad hole. With the underside pads, it's much, much easier to rework and reuse. We also used M2.5 mounting holes as they're a popular size with easy-to-source fixings.
