The Homematic IP Access Point is the central element of the Homematic IP smart home system. The Access Point is connected to the conventional router and connects the Homematic IP Cloud located in Germany with the Homematic IP devices in your own home - and it is fully encrypted. As no personal data is requested during setup, the user remains anonymous despite using a cloud solution. Once the access point is connected to the internet, all functions can be accessed via a free smartphone app. The intuitive app provides a clear overview of all conceivable functions. The app can also be used to teach new devices in just a few simple steps. Thanks to a free-field range of up to 400 meters, devices in remote corners can also be reliably integrated into the system.

The innovative IP radio protocol communicates extremely energy-efficiently on the 868 MHz frequency. This ensures long battery life for the connected devices and prevents users from being exposed to constant radio radiation. The high efficiency is also reflected in the energy consumption of the access point. It has an average power consumption of 1.1 watts, which means there should be no surprises on the electricity bill. Despite the low energy consumption, the base also provides the user with the necessary status updates visually at all times. For this purpose, the button on the front of the base station lights up in different colors depending on the operating status.

Homematic IP Smart Home Radiator Thermostat - basic Automatic and convenient control of the room temperature through demand-based heating

The Homematic IP Radiator Thermostat - basic is part of the Homematic IP smart home system and actively helps to save energy. The smart controller replaces conventional radiator thermostats, allowing energy savings of up to 30 % to be achieved.

The thermostat is installed on the radiator without interfering with the heating system and without tools. It is powered by two AA batteries, which can supply energy for approx. 2 years. The radiator thermostat can be used immediately thanks to the preset heating profile - this can be adjusted manually at any time if required. Individual temperature profiles with up to 13 changes per day are possible. This means that Homematic IP only heats certain rooms when there is a real need.
