Introducing the Raspberry Pi AI Camera, a versatile camera module designed specifically for Raspberry Pi enthusiasts. This compact camera utilizes the advanced Sony IMX500 Intelligent Vision Sensor, featuring a 12-megapixel CMOS image sensor paired with on-board inferencing capabilities. This combination enables the creation of complex vision-based AI applications without the need for an external accelerator. The AI Camera enhances captured images and videos with tensor metadata, allowing the Raspberry Pi's processor to handle other tasks efficiently. It supports tensor metadata through the libcamera and Picamera2 libraries, as well as the rpicam-apps application suite, making it accessible for beginners while providing advanced users with exceptional power and flexibility. Compatible with all Raspberry Pi models featuring a CSI camera connection, the camera’s PCB design mirrors that of the Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3. However, its increased depth accommodates the larger IMX500 sensor and optical components. Included are two cables (15-pin and 22-pin) for seamless integration with all Raspberry Pi computers that have a CSI port, including the Raspberry Pi 5. (Note: Raspberry Pi board not included.)
