Unitree As2 - Compact Quadruped Robot for Research, Inspection, and Development The Unitree As2 is a versatile family of compact quadruped robots that combines high industrial performance with an open development platform. Depending on the model, it is suitable for research and education, AI and robotics development, autonomous navigation, and mobile inspection and automation tasks. With 12 degrees of freedom, a weight of approximately 18 kg, and a maximum joint torque of up to 90 N·m, the As2 offers high mobility and load-bearing capacity. It reaches speeds of up to 3.7 m/s under normal conditions and up to approximately 5 m/s under suitable conditions. It can handle inclines of up to approximately 40°, stair steps up to 25 cm, and challenging indoor and outdoor environments. The long-range battery, with a capacity of 15,000 mAh or 648 Wh, provides a runtime of more than four hours without a load and a range of approximately 20 km. The continuous carrying capacity while walking is approximately 15 kg, while the maximum standing load capacity is approximately 65 kg. Features include an 8-core high-performance CPU, HD camera, industrial LiDAR, microphone array, and speakers. Depending on the model, the system also includes NVIDIA Jetson computing modules with 40 or 100 TOPS, depth cameras, and a Livox Mid-360 with a navigation algorithm. The IP54-rated housing, made of aluminum alloy and high-strength plastic, is designed for temperatures ranging from -20 °C to +50 °C. Secondary development, simulation interfaces, Isaac Sim, AI algorithms, UniStore, and continuous OTA updates make the As2 a flexible platform for research and real-world applications.
