Product Description The HIOKI L9846 grounding grid module is an accessory for grounding measurements on hard surfaces such as concrete when auxiliary grounding rods cannot be driven directly into the ground. The foldable module with a magnetic latch features two copper mesh contact surfaces, each measuring 18 × 22 cm. After opening, the contact surfaces are placed on the surface and moistened with water to establish electrical contact. The module is integrated into the measurement setup via the alligator clip connector. Mounting on Cable Reels The L9846 is designed for attachment to the cable reels L9845-52, L9845-33, L9845-31, L9842-22, and L9842-11. It clicks into place on the cable reel, forming a single unit with it. On the mounting side, there is a funnel for filling with water; on the opposite side, the corresponding openings are located. Robust Design and System Accessories Compared to the more space-saving 9050 grounding grids, the L9846 is the more durable version with more convenient handling. The C0209 carrying case is suitable for storing and transporting cable reels with mounted grounding grid modules. Two L9846 grounding grid modules and the C0209 carrying case are already included with the FT6041 and FT6041-91 grounding testers. Use with HIOKI Grounding Testers The grounding grid modules are designed for use with HIOKI grounding testers such as the FT6041 and FT6041-91. Use with other grounding testers or installation testers that operate with grounding rods is outside the intended system combination. HIOKI does not guarantee proper operation in such cases.
