The MED MI 1005 network isolator has been developed to protect against incalculable currents via data lines of medical institutions. Network isolators enable galvanic isolation for medical electrical devices and systems in accordance with DIN EN 60601-1.

Galvanic network isolation involves passive electronic components without their own power supply. They behave fully transparently in the network, therefore the installation of drivers or additional software is not required.

The isolators are commissioned by simply being inserted into existing network cabling. An external power source is not required for operation. The MI 1005® was tested by the notified authority for medical devices, the EUROCAT Institute in Darmstadt, Germany, in line with IEC 60601-1, DIN EN 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2 and DIN EN 60601-1-2. In addition, it has certification in accordance with UL 60601 (UL Listed E342310). The summary of test reports is available on request.

Only UL94-V0 materials were used in the production of the MI 1005®. This network isolator is equipped with a dielectric strength of 5000 V and provides full IEEE 802.3 compatibility.
