The LANtest Pro - Network Cable Tester with Tone Generator is a small, handy tester that allows the user to quickly view the condition of Ethernet twisted pair cables. It detects faults such as open, shorted, crossed, twisted pair and split pair faults in seconds. With the tone generator function, the technician can send a signal through the installed cables and then use the Cable Tracer to locate the fault.
