The DES-105 5-Port 10/100 Mbps Switch is a 5-port 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet switch that allows you to set up a wired network quickly and easily. Connect the DES-105 to multiple computers to share files and folders with other users, or connect it to a router to share the Internet connection.

10/100 MBit/s ports with autosensing The DES-105 5-port 10/100 Mbps switch uses 10/100 Mbps ports with automatic speed detection (autosensing). This allows small workgroups to flexibly connect Ethernet and Fast Ethernet devices to create an integrated network. The ports detect the network speed and automatically negotiate between 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX as well as between full and half duplex. This ensures the optimum transmission speed for every device connected to the network.

LAN ports with Auto-MDI/MDIX All ports of the DES-105 support automatic MDI/MDIX adaptation, eliminating the need for crossover cables and uplink ports. Each port can be connected directly to a server, hub, router or switch via a normal, uncrossed twisted-pair Ethernet cable. In addition, the Ethernet ports of the DES-105/108 are located on the front for easy accessibility and are equipped with two-color LED indicators that allow quick detection of the connection status.

Flow control for secure transmission When the buffer capacity of a port is reached, the 802.3x flow control function is activated to minimize the number of dropped packets. By minimizing the number of dropped packets, the switch provides a more reliable connection for all your connected devices while you browse the Internet, play games or enjoy media.

The green solution The DES-105 is a plug-and-play network switch equipped with D-Link's Green technology. This technology reduces energy consumption and waste heat, extending the life of the product without compromising on performance and features. The switch supports Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) according to IEEE 802.3az. This procedure recognizes whether the connected computer is switched off or whether no Ethernet data traffic is currently being transmitted. In this case, the switch switches off the unused port, which enables considerable power savings.
