The latest addition to the "StromPi family" opens up entirely new possibilities for the Raspberry Pi and many other development boards.
In addition to the voltage inputs already available, the new StromPi 3 can now be supplemented with an optional, plug-in battery unit that adds a rechargeable backup power source-a LiFePO4 battery-to your Raspberry Pi. With the optional battery unit, the StromPi 3 can switch to battery power in the event of an external power failure.
The optionally available battery unit is a special lithium iron phosphate battery that offers several advantages over conventional lithium-ion batteries (see accessory “RPI STROMPI BATTERY"):
