This cable detection and testing device, consisting of a tone generator and a sample (cable locator), is a very practical aid for cable installation and troubleshooting.

The probe tests for continuity and assignment or determines line polarity and voltage for network / telephone cables. The Tone Generator sends a signal to the connected line, the probe is used to find the corresponding line at the other end; indication both by LED and acoustically. The probe (cable locator) has a special inductive plastic tip to prevent unintentional short circuits in the vicinity of high-voltage equipment.
