P 5220 Layer thickness measuring device

Layer thickness measuring devices are used for the non-destructive measurement of coatings such as paint, colour and plastic on metallic surfaces. The new PeakTech 5220 works according to the eddy-current principle and is suitable for both ferrous metals (Fe), such as steel, and non-ferrous metals (non-Fe), such as aluminium or copper. This measuring device is extremely precise and has a German and English user interface with menu control on the easy-to-read-matrix LCD display with background lighting. In addition to the many measurement functions, such as minimum and maximum value, mean, high and low alarm and much more, this model also features an internal data memory that can hold four measuring groups. The saved measurement values can then be read using the supplied software by connecting the USB cable, and can then be processed further as a text file or as an Excel table.

To increase measuring accuracy, the PeakTech 5220 offers an easy-to-use calibration and zeroing function. This means that the measuring device is particularly suitable for measuring paint thicknesses in the automotive sector, for painting and varnishing applications, for electroplating and anodizing procedures and for other industrial metal coating procedures.
