Martindale EZ165 Advanced Socket & Non-Trip Earth Loop Tester

The Matindale EZ165 not only detects 28 fault conditions and checks the mains voltage level, it also shows how safe the earth wiring is by carrying out a non-trip earth loop test and indicates its value in 6 discrete ranges from less than 1.7Ω to 500Ω. A low earth resistance is essential for safety disconnection devices to work properly and to prevent electrocution when faults occur.

In contrast, basic socket testers only detect the presence of an earth with some products showing an earth connection even when resistance values are as high as 500kΩ. The EZ165 is defined as an Advanced Socket Tester by the Health & Safety Executive.
