With the FT232RN, FTDI is expanding its range of integrated circuits with a USB-UART interface. The FT232RNL is a USB-to-Serial UART interface with optional clock generator output and the new FTDIChip-ID™ security dongle function. Asynchronous and synchronous bit-bang interface modes are also available. USB-to-serial designs with the FT232RNL have been further simplified by fully integrating the external EEPROM, clock circuitry and USB resistors in the device.
