TE Connectivity 071-06403 ABD AD-101 Compact Air Bubble Detector

The TE Connectivity 071-06403 ABD AD-101 is a compact, non-invasive air bubble detector designed for continuous monitoring of fluid flow in medical and industrial applications.

It uses ultrasonic technology to detect the presence of air bubbles in liquid-filled tubing without making direct contact with the fluid. This ensures that the contents remain sterile and eliminates concerns about fluid compatibility.

The sensor operates with a supply voltage range of 5 to 24 volts DC and provides a 3.3V TTL logic output. When liquid is present, the output is low; when a bubble is detected, the output goes high.

It also includes a self-test output to confirm operational status. The response time is approximately 0.22 milliseconds, allowing for rapid detection of flow interruptions.

The 071-06403 variant is designed for tubing with an outer diameter of 4 mm and features a slot dimension of 3.2 mm by 8.0 mm. It is constructed from an ABS/PC plastic blend rated UL 94 V-2 for flame resistance and includes integral electronics housed within the sensor body.

The cable is a 4-conductor 28 AWG type, 350 mm in length.

This sensor is suitable for use in dialysis machines, IV infusion systems, blood transfusion equipment, syringe and insulin pumps, and other fluid delivery systems where patient safety and precise fluid control are critical. It is also applicable in biotech, chemical analysis, and food processing environments where bubble detection is essential.
