The synchronous buck-boost regulation is efficient for circuits with matching input and output voltages, such as short chains with high power LEDs or laser diodes connected to a 12V system. It can also power non-LED devices like USB chargers and serve as a pre-regulator for infotainment. Without SPI, it suits applications that don't require advanced features or a microcontroller.
