Homematic IP Smart Home Switching and Metering Outlet

The Homematic IP Switching and Metering Outlet is part of the Homematic IP smart home system and allows for flexible control of electrical devices via time profiles, manually directly on the device, or via the Homematic IP app, while simultaneously monitoring their energy consumption. To set it up, simply plug the Switching and Metering Outlet into an outlet and add it to the Homematic IP system. The compact adapter can be used both to control an electric heater and to switch on or off another electrical appliance, such as a floor lamp.

If you want to turn the device on or off directly on-site, you can do so easily using the built-in button on the front of the switch-and-metering power strip or via the free smartphone app. If desired, you can also conveniently control the Homematic IP Switching and Metering Outlet via voice commands using the Homematic IP Skill for Amazon Alexa. As part of the Homematic IP room climate solution, the adapter plug works seamlessly with the Homematic IP wall thermostat. So, when an electric heater is in use, the switch-and-metering outlet can be used to precisely regulate the room temperature.

The integrated meter measures energy consumption in the range from 0 to 3,000 watts. It offers a measurement resolution in 0.01-watt increments and a maximum measurement deviation of ±0.03 watts. Thanks to its high measurement accuracy, even very low-power devices and the standby power consumption of electrical appliances can be conveniently monitored via the app. The total energy consumption is also clearly displayed in the Homematic IP app.

Thanks to its compact housing, the smart power strip does not block any adjacent outlets and, due to its low standby power consumption of less than 0.3 watts, can safely remain plugged in.
