Pololu Maxbotix XL-MaxSonar-AE0 Sonar Range Finder MB1300

The Maxbotix XL-MaxSonar series of sonar range finders excels in providing precise short- to long-range detection within a compact design. It efficiently detects objects from 0 to 7.65 meters, with a resolution of 1 centimeter. The device is powered by an efficient transformer consuming only 0.5 watts, ensuring high-output acoustic power. Advanced features such as continuously-variable gain, automatic calibration, and noise rejection algorithms guarantee accurate distance readings even in noisy environments. Available in five factory-calibrated beam patterns, this sensor is perfect for diverse applications. With its versatile design, the range finder is ideal for robotics, security systems, and automation projects. Its ability to detect objects from as close as 0 to 20 centimeters, outputting them as 20 centimeters, ensures no dead zones, making it reliable for obstacle detection in autonomous vehicles. The sensor's compact size, measuring approximately 2.2 x 2.0 x 2.5 cm and weighing just 6.1 grams, allows for easy integration into space-constrained projects. Its low power consumption, operating at 3.4 mA at 5 V or 2.1 mA at 3.3 V, makes it suitable for battery-powered devices.Offering multiple output interfaces, including serial, analog, and pulse width, the sensor provides flexibility in data handling. The AE models feature a real-time analog envelope output, enabling simultaneous detection of multiple objects at varying distances through external processing.Choosing the right sensor from the XL-MaxSonar family is simplified with various beam patterns and output types. Whether for precision measurement or broad detection, this sensor line offers a suitable option for your specific needs.
