KY-032 IR Obstacle Sensor Module

The KY-032 IR obstacle sensor module (IR stands for infrared) is an electronic component used to detect obstacles. It contains an infrared LED and a phototransistor mounted in opposite ends of the module. The LED emits infrared radiation that reflects off an obstacle and hits the phototransistor. Depending on how much light is reflected from the obstacle, the resistance of the phototransistor changes, which can be measured by an external circuit to detect the presence of an obstacle.
