ODROID-HC4 is a new home cloud platform based on the same ARM CPU as ODROID-C4.

A 12 nm energy-efficient 1.8 GHz Cortex A55 quad-core processor with faster 4 GB DDR4 RAM is used. A 16 MB SPI flash chip is located on the board for the useful petit-boot function. A native and more reliable PCIe to SATA direct bridge solution is also used. The HC4 board offers two SATA memory docks for 2x 3.5" or 2.5" HDDs as HDD or SSD and under ideal conditions transfer rates of up to 500 MB/s would be possible. On the back of the transparent housing there is a 5.5 mm DC socket, a UHS-1 compatible micro SD slot, USB 2.0, HDMI 2.0 and a 1 Gb LAN connection. Thanks to Linux LVM or mdadm, you can combine two hard drives in RAID 0, RAID 1 or optimize I/O with a large hard drive using a mechanical drive and an SSD for caching hard drives (LVM, bcache, etc.).

Software support Petitboot can find the operating system on the SD card, hard disk or SSD. Even if you don't have an SD card, but have a connected hard drive or SSD with the operating system installed, Petitboot will boot the HC4 with the operating system from the hard drive or SSD. Debian / Ubuntu OS can be run with the pre-installed operating system image of the hard kernel or the Debian / Ubuntu Netboot Installer, which you can get from the ODROID forum.
