LED ballast for the operation of LED lamps with DC voltage. This ballast can be used in combination with a conventional phase-control dimmer to dim almost any LED lamp from 0 to 100%, smoothly and completely without flicker. Even LED strip lights and many "non-dimmable" LEDs can be dimmed just as effectively using this system. This technology is also ideally suited for use when upgrading existing lighting systems to LED technology, since the existing equipment can be retained almost unchanged.
