Application: For mounting, the optical-fibre splice is placed in the middle of splice protection and then definitively closed with the splice protection press. The unprotected splice is embedded in the duro-elastic earth and thus protected against environmental influences. The splice protection can then be taken immediately from the splice protection press without any waiting time and placed e.g. in a splice cassette following insertion in the splice protection holder.
