Description: ESP32-WROOM-32E and ESP32-WROOM-32UE are two high-performance, generic WiFi+BT+BLE MCU modules targeting a wide range of applications, from low-power sensor networks to the most demanding tasks, such as voice encoding, music streaming and MP3 decoding. ESP32-WROOM-32E comes with a PCB antenna, while ESP32-WROOM-32UE comes with an IPEX antenna. Both have a 4 MB external SPI flash. The core of the module is the ESP32-D0WD-V3 chip*. The embedded chip is designed to be scalable and adaptable. There are two CPU cores that can be individually controlled, and the CPU clock frequency is adjustable from 80 MHz to 240 MHz. The chip also has a low-power co-processor that can be used in place of the CPU to save power and perform tasks that don't require much processing power, such as peripheral monitoring. ESP32 integrates a variety of peripherals, such as capacitive touch sensors, Hall sensors, SD card interface, Ethernet, high-speed SPI, UART, I²S, and I²C. The integration of Bluetooth®, Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi ensures that a wide range of applications can be targeted and the module is versatile: using Wi-Fi enables a wide physical range and a direct connection to the Internet via a Wi-Fi router, while using Bluetooth enables a convenient connection to the phone or broadcasting low energy beacons for user recognition. The quiescent current of the ESP32 chip is less than 5 µA, making it suitable for battery-powered and portable electronics applications. The module supports a data rate of up to 150 Mbps and 20 dBm output power at the antenna to ensure the longest possible physical range. As such, the module offers industry-leading specifications and best-in-class performance for electronic integration, range, power consumption and connectivity. The operating system chosen for ESP32 is freeRTOS with LwIP; TLS 1.2 with hardware acceleration is also built in. Secure (encrypted) over-the-air (OTA) upgrade is also supported, allowing users to upgrade their products with minimal effort and cost even after release.
