Magnetic angle sensors determine the position of a magnetic field with the help of specially arranged Hall elements. In an ASIC, this position or the angular position of a magnet is converted into a proportional and/or incremental output signal. In non-contact systems, the magnet is located on the bearing-mounted shaft end of the sensor inside the housing; for non-contact systems separately as a free position encoder. Magnetic encoders are particularly suitable for applications in harsh environments. These offer great robustness, often high and low operating temperatures, sometimes high speeds and at the same time excellent reliability and accuracy. This technology is available in a variety of designs and sizes, so that there are almost no limits to design creativity.
