The MQ sensors, including the MQ3 sensor, are capable of detecting various gases, whereby the MQ3 sensor is specially designed for the detection of alcohol vapors.

It is sensitive to alcohols such as methanol, ethanol and isopropanol. The MQ3 sensor is often used to measure the concentration of alcohol in the air and serves as a warning system for the presence of alcohol in the environment.

It is important to note that MQ sensors are not specialized to a single gas and can react to other gases, albeit less specifically. Therefore, the MQ3 sensor should be used exclusively for alcohol detection to ensure optimum accuracy and reliability. Adequate warm-up time is required to ensure proper function.

The breakout provides both digital and analog information via the easyC system. The sensor's data can be retrieved via easyC.
