Battery Junction Box Controller IC for Non-Pyro Architectures

The MC33777 is a battery junction box controller IC designed for automotive battery management systems (BMS), including hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), electric vehicles (EV) and energy storage systems (ESS). The MC33777 provides redundant measurement of current, voltage and temperature parameters while integrating extensive diagnostic and fault detection capabilities. The device can independently control two pyrotechnic switches and supports autonomous system response to fault conditions without requiring microcontroller intervention. Communication is supported through an isolated TPL3 daisy-chain interface or SPI. Developed for safety-critical battery systems, the MC33777 supports functional safety applications up to ISO 26262 ASIL D.
