SparkFun WiFi IR Blaster (ESP8266)

The SparkFun WiFi IR Blaster is an ingenious device that enables you to control your old, legacy IR-controlled devices via a WiFi network, bringing them into the Internet of Things era. This includes applications such as controlling your TV via a web browser, asking Alexa to mute your stereo, or scheduling triggers for your IR-controlled LED strip. The WiFi IR Blaster is built around the ESP8266, a robust WiFi/microcontroller SoC, coupled with IR emitters and receivers. With its built-in WiFi support, the ESP8266 can be programmed to establish an interface between HTTP, MQTT, TCP, and IR-controlled devices. The module comes equipped with a crystal, 4MB flash, and a PCB antenna for optimal performance. Please note that the antenna is located under the SparkFun logo on the board, so avoid placing anything that may interfere with WiFi signals in that area.The IR emitter and detector components come with the board but are not pre-soldered. This allows you the flexibility to solder the components at any angle that your project necessitates. It also provides the option to customize the board and choose your own emitter and/or receiver.
