This isolated barrier is suitable for intrinsically safe applications.

The device transmits binary signals from SN/S1N sensors or approved mechanical contacts from the hazardous area to the safe area.

The input controls 1 relay contact output with 3 NO contacts (one in series to the two output relays for the safety function), 1 relay contact output with 1 NO contact and 1 passive transistor output (fault message output).

Unlike a SN/S1N series proximity sensor, a mechanical contact requires a 10 kOhm resistor to be placed over the contact, in addition to a 1.5 kOhm resistor in series.

The control circuit is continuously monitored for line breaks (LB) and short circuit (SC).

In the event of a fault, the fault message output is activated while outputs I and II drop off.

Output I must be used for safety applications up to SIL 3. Output I and Output II can be used for safety applications up to SIL 2.
