OK, so teletext information service stopped being broadcast by the BBC (UK) in 2012, but it's far from being dead in the UK. It is also still used in many other countries.

so these chips are being offered for anyone wanting to have a play, or for people that need to kickstart that old (and not so old) TV.

Hence a very sensible price that makes it worth it.
