Raspberry Pi 5 - 2GB RAM WiFi 2.4/5 GHz PCI Express Ethernet 1Gb/s 4x USB

Mikrobot

The Raspberry Pi 5 with 2GB RAM LPDDR4X-4267 is an advanced minicomputer featuring a state-of-the-art Broadcom BCM2712D0 ARM Cortex-A76 quad-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz. The fifth edition of this popular device offers a variety of connectivity, including two microHDMI ports, two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0 and a USB-C power connector.

The device also features two MIPI DSI/CSI camera/display connectors, a PCI Express 2.0 connector, a fan connector, a UART and an RTC battery, as well as a handy power button. The board supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 BLE and a high-speed Ethernet port (1000 Mbps), with the ability to be powered by PoE using the PoE+ HAT overlay. The Raspberry Pi 5 also includes a 40-pin GPIO connector, a microSD card slot for the operating system and standard mounting holes. In addition, the device has special mounting holes for an official heatsink and fan for optimal cooling.

Key changes to the Raspberry Pi 5:

* Different RAM Versions: Available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB RAM variants, allowing you to choose the right amount of memory for different needs.

* BCM2712 processor: A powerful Broadcom BCM2712D0 Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A76 64-bit chip clocked at 2.4 GHz, which is 60% faster than its predecessor.

* PCIe 2.0 connector: High-speed PCI Express 2.0 connector for connecting high data transfer peripherals.

* RTC Battery Connector: Dedicated connector for connecting a real-time battery (RTC) to maintain the current date and time.

* UART connector: Allows the debugger to be connected to the Raspberry Pi 5 board.

* Two CSI/DSI Connectors : Two 4-line MIPI CSI/DSI connectors in mini 22-pin format, allowing the connection of a camera and a display or two cameras/displays.

* ON/OFF button: Ability to switch the minicomputer on/off using the power button, which is also used to wake the device from deep sleep mode. Holding the button down for a long time disconnects the power supply.

* Raspberry Pi RP1 chip : A specially designed RP1 chip by the Raspberry Pi Foundation to handle I/O interfaces, increasing the performance of the Raspberry Pi 5 compared to older models.

* Connector layout: Retained board outline from previous versions, but with revised interface layout.

The new version of the Raspberry Pi 5 is equipped with two microHDMI ports, which enable the transmission of high-quality video and audio, even at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. In addition, the Raspberry Pi 5 offers two 4-line MIPI CSI/DSI sockets, allowing the connection of two 4K-capable displays or two cameras.

The device is equipped with an advanced VideoCore VII GPU, running at 800 MHz. It should be noted that the CSI/DSI connectors have 22 lines in a 0.5 mm raster, which means that a special adapter may be required to use some older accessories. Raspberry Pi OS on the Raspberry Pi 5 The new Raspberry Pi 5 is equipped with a microSD memory card slot, supporting SDR104 high-speed mode, from which the Raspberry Pi OS is run. It is also possible to run the system from the minicomputer's USB port. The Raspberry Pi 5 is compatible with Raspberry Pi OS versions Bookworm and above. Communications on the Raspberry Pi 5 The fifth generation Raspberry Pi continues the tradition of popular interfaces familiar from typical PCs. Key communication elements include:

* Two microHDMI connectors: Allows the connection of two screens simultaneously, with the ability to display 4K resolution for high visual quality.

* WiFi module: Dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11b/g/n/ac wireless connectivity for fast and stable network access.

* Bluetooth LE: Includes Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) 5.0 technology for energy-efficient and reliable wireless connectivity.

* Four USB Connectors: Raspberry Pi 5 features two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 connectors that support data transfer of up to 5 Gbps, ideal for connecting peripherals.

* Ethernet socket: Offers a wired connection to the internet at speeds of up to 1000 Mbps. Power can also be supplied to the device via this socket, using the PoE+ HAT overlay.

* GPIO: 40-pin general-purpose input/output, including interfaces such as I2C, SPI and UART, used to control LEDs, buttons or motor drivers, among others.

Raspberry Pi 5 power supply The new version of the Raspberry Pi 5 minicomputer is equipped with a USB Type C port to power the device. For optimal operation, the Raspberry Pi 5 requires a 5 V power supply with a minimum current capacity of 5 A. By default, the maximum current capacity of the USB ports is 600 mA. However, when a USB C power supply with Power Delivery is detected, this limit is automatically raised to 1.6 A, providing greater flexibility in connecting peripherals. Specifications
