USBSID-Pico by LouD (V1.3)

The USBSID-Pico V1.3 is a hardware project that utilizes the Raspberry Pi Pico (RP2040) microcontroller to interface with one or two MOS SID chips—the sound chips originally used in the Commodore 64 computer. This setup allows users to connect these chips to modern devices via USB, enabling the playback of classic chiptune music and integration with MIDI controllers. The project supports various SID chip replacements, such as SIDKick-Pico and ARMSID, and offers features like onboard audio filtering and configurable power options, as well as single, dual and quadrophonic SID output.

USBSID-Pico supports various ways of playing SID files such as Deepsid by Chordian, SidBerry and Vice

Unit comes in kit form, with all the SMD parts already soldered in the factory, but you need to solder the remaining through hole parts yourself. Basic soldering skills are enough, it's a very simple and fun project to build. Not included are the sound chips, and the Raspberry Pi Pico. You can use a variety of SIDs and SID clones, as well as different Pi Pico, from original green ones to clones with RGB leds.
