Sleek and versatile, Spectra Symbol's ribbon controllers, also known as soft potentiometers, come with a handy adhesive backing for easy installation. These devices feature a nominal 10K resistance across their outer leads.Uniquely designed, the middle pin's resistance varies based on pressure application location, floating when untouched. Ensure optimal usage by employing a weak pullup resistor, ideally around 100K ohm.To get started, connect one side pin to the ground with a 10K resistor and the other to your Vcc power line (3V, 5V, etc.) using a separate 10K resistor. Measure the analog voltage on the center pin, dynamically ranging between 1/3 Vcc and 2/3 Vcc.Avoid direct connections to Ground and Power to prevent damage.
