In the CRF series, the parameters have essentially been designed to accommodate applications in which the fault incident is clearly defined, specifically power supply units and chargers for mobile use.

CRF series resistor trigger suddenly when there is a supply voltage of 230 Vrms, without sparking any flames or explosions.

Furthermore, the resistors can also be used as fuse resistors in overload applications.

The resistor wire is wound around a capped ceramic carrier and sealed with the caps. A special lacquer absorbs metal vapour in the event of evaporation of the wire and prevents arcing and therefore a short circuit.

The coiled wire is sized for all resistance values between 10R and 330R such that the evaporation occurs at the supply voltage.

The resistor elements are coated with silicone lacquer.
