At only 12 mm in width, the digital input terminal has over 16 channels. The device registers binary control signals from the field range, e.g. from sensors, transmitters, switches or proximity switches. The terminal is equipped with CAGE-CLAMP® connections, enabling single-stranded conductors to be inserted directly. An RC filter is connected upstream of each input channel with a time constant of 3.0 ms for suppressing interference. The signal state of each channel is indicated by means of a green status LED. Field and system levels are galvanically isolated from one another.
