When you need exact positioning and repeatability rather than just raw speed, a DC motor won't cut it; you need a stepper. This Small Stepper Motor is the perfect solution for small-scale robotics, gauges, dials, and camera mechanisms. Unlike standard DC motors that spin freely, this Bipolar stepper moves in discrete, precise increments. With a stride angle of 7.5°, this motor divides a full rotation into 48 distinct steps, giving you excellent control over position without the need for feedback sensors. It features a standard 3mm diameter drive shaft, making it compatible with a wide range of gears and couplers, and includes a pre-attached 100mm 4-wire cable. Critical Power & Driver Information Driving a stepper motor correctly is key to achieving optimal performance and ensuring longevity. How you power this motor depends entirely on the driver you choose:
* Using a Current-Limiting Driver (Recommended): If you are using a modern "chopper" driver (like the EasyDriver or Big Easy Driver), you can safely use a 12V power supply. However, you must set the driver's current limit to 400 mA or less to prevent overheating.
* Using a Non-Current Limiting Driver: If you are using a basic H-Bridge (like an L293D or an older Motor Shield), do not use 12V. You must lower your input voltage to ensure the motor draws less than 400 mA, or it will overheat and fail.
