The NF-S12A housing fan marks the third generation of Noctua's classic S12 series, which has received more than 250 awards and recommendations in the international trade press. Thanks to the improved blade geometry with anti-stall knobs and the new AAO frame (short for Advanced Acoustic Optimization), the NF-S12A achieves up to 8% higher efficiency (delivery rate/noise development) compared to its renowned predecessor. The PWM version uses Noctua's specially designed NE-FD1 IC for fully automatic speed control via 4-pin connections and is supplied with a low-noise adapter, through which the maximum speed in PWM operation can be reduced from 1200 to 900rpm. Its outstanding smoothness, the SSO2 reference class bearing and Noctua's proven premium quality make the NF-S12A a choice for noise-optimized housing cooling.

Award-winning S12 design The NF-S12A uses the third evolution stage of Noctua's classic straight blade design, which has entered the S12 series with countless recommendations from hardware enthusiasts and journalists around the globe. Further optimized for even better airflow/noise efficiency, the NF-S12A is the ideal silent housing fan.

Anti-Stall Knobs The NF-S12A reduces eddy-removal phenomena in situations with medium to high flow resistance and thus extends the so-called stall margin (current break limit). This makes the NF-S12A even more versatile than its predecessor and enables better results on heat sinks and radiators.

Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads The anti-vibration pads, made from extra-soft silicone, reduce the transmission of minimal vibrations while being compatible with all standard mounting systems and fan clips used in CPU coolers.

PWM IC WITH SCD The NF-S12A PWM supports fully automatic speed control via PWM and uses Noctua's new, specially designed NE-FD1 chip. This new PWM IC integrates Noctua's smooth commutation Drive (SCD) technology, which minimizes PWM switching noise and makes the fan even quieter at low speeds.

Low-Noise Adapter The NF-S12A PWM is supplied with a (L.N.A.) that reduces the maximum speed from 1200 to 900rpm. This allows you to operate the fan at a constant 900rpm or limit the maximum speed in PWM operation.

Comprehensive Connectivity Options While the 20cm short primary cable helps to avoid cable clutter in typical applications, the included 30cm extension provides extra range for all cases. Both cables are fully sheathed and a 4-pin Y-cable allows a second PWM fan to be controlled at the same connection.

SSO2 bearings The NF-S12A is equipped with the further optimized second generation of Noctua's proven SSO storage system. At SSO2, the rear magnet sits closer to the fan axis, resulting in even better stabilization, resulting in further improved precision and durability.

Metal Bearing Shell In order to guarantee the highest possible degree of manufacturing precision, minimum tolerances and excellent long-term stability, the NF-S12A uses a CNC machined bearing shell made of brass.
