Polyimide tape is used in aerospace electronic components as well as Apple products. It is a low outgassing plastic with high heat and radiation resistance and excellent insulating properties. Whether used as masking tape in electrofusion and powder coating or for electrical insulation in X-ray equipment and radioactive environments: Polyimide tape is the perfect super tape for the mad scientist.

Note: does not filter X-rays.

Our polyimide tape is the perfect replacement for the 12.7mm tape used by Apple (# 922-1731). Even if you only need a few inches of the roll, which totals about 33 yards, it's cheap enough to share with friends or hoard as a lifetime supply.

The tape is compatible with the properties of "3M Kapton® Polyimide Tape # KPT-1/2" and can be used as a replacement.
