High-precision time-of-flight proximity sensor

The VL53L4CD has been specially developed for proximity and short distance measurements and offers very accurate distance measurements from just 1 mm up to 1300 mm. A new generation laser emitter with 18° FOV improves ambient light performance with a measurement speed of up to 100 Hz. Thanks to an autonomous mode with programmable distance threshold, the very low power consumption of the VL53L4CD is ideal for use in battery-powered devices. Fully embedded on-chip processing helps reduce design complexity and BOM costs by using less powerful and less expensive microcontrollers. Like all Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors based on ST's FlightSense technology, the VL53L4CD draws absolute distance measurement regardless of the target's color and reflectance.
